7. ½” x 15mm Hex sweated ends
Flexible drives are used for cleaning, and scales by transmitting power in terms of rotation from the motor unit to a tool head or a brush within the tube.
The inner core is manufactured using a spring alloy steel. All cores are wound simultaneously to ensure the elasticity of the spring steel grips each layer. After winding the completed inner core, a series of inter-related heat treatments and annealing processes takes place in order to ensure stress relieving while maintaining flexural strength and elasticity.
The outer casing is manufactured using a specific galvanised steel, which combines the essential properties of flexural strength, ductility and hardness to avoid wear. All surfaces are corrosion protected and carefully ground to avoid joint stiffness.
The liner is constructed of spring steel, with all edges rounded, and it is inserted in the outer casing to avoid friction between the inner core and outer casing. A series of inter-related heat treatments and annealing processes is carried out in order to ensure stress relieving while maintaining, flexible strength and elasticity.
The outer casing and strengthening liner together with a reinforced filament are assembled using precise jigs to avoid loose grips or over crushing. The backend of the shaft is fitted with a hex sweated end, connected to a suitable motor unit and the front end is attached to a tool head or brush.
